The fastest way to get more newsletter sign-ups in 2025

Milk Road - Grew to 250k subscribers and was acquired for 7 figures in 10 months. 85%+ of all their subscribers came from paid ads. And over 150k subscribers from Facebook ads alone.

The Hustle - Grew to 2M+ subscribers and was acquired for ~$27M in 4 years. Most of their growth came from paid advertising. About 1M subscribers came from Facebook ads.

1440 - 3.4M+ subscribers. Most subscribers came from paid social ads.

TLDR - 1.25M+ subscribers. Most subscribers came from paid social ads.

MorningBrew, IndustryDive, WorkWeek, and many more top newsletters also get the majority of their subscribers from paid acquisition.

I say most because sometimes paid ads just might not make sense for you.

If your newsletter is a super niche B2B newsletter with only 1000 people, you might as well try personalized cold DMs, events, giveaways, Sparkloop, and organic growth strategies.

I’ve seen newsletters in small niches do well with Facebook ads too. A few examples are psychedelic lovers, marketing executives, finance and venture capital.

With Facebook ads, you might not get the exact people you want, but you can get the people interested in your content, even if they are not your ideal subscriber.

And if you’re playing the long game, that’s still valuable because you can monetize them with ads and co-registration widgets like Sparkloop and Beehiiv boosts.

I am currently growing my newsletter with Facebook ads. At Adsora we grow our client newsletters using paid ads too.

Based on our observations, the cost per subscriber (CPA) on Facebook can be as low as $0.35 (yes 35 cents in the US).

Buy more realistically it would be anywhere from $1-3 on average.

Not too shabby considering your average subscriber LTV could go up to $20.

While being the fastest, Facebook ads are not the most beginner-friendly way to grow your newsletter. Primarily because you have to pay to play.

And when you’re starting out from 0, it can take a few weeks of testing and iterations to get where you’d want to be in terms of your cost.

But keep in mind that advertising can’t fix your business, it only amplifies your existing results, so having monetization set up is really helpful for you to justify pouring more money into ads.
